Agriculture is expected to be a critical driver in Australia’s next growth wave, and the State and Federal Governments are investing to build a stronger, more productive, more profitable and more sustainable agriculture sector.
Australian agriculture has a strong track record and interest from investors, and is growing as world demand for safe, premium food products increases.
Water for Food
is providing new opportunities for investment in Western Australia’s irrigated agriculture sector, through the development of strategic project areas and irrigation precincts. New water sources and innovation in irrigation will support growth and diversification of agriculture and horticulture in Western Australia, driving new economic opportunities for the State and the country.
With projects spanning from the Kimberley in the State’s north, to Manjimup in the south, the Water for Food
program is working to facilitate commercial investment decisions for new, large-scale irrigated agriculture precincts and the expansion of existing areas by identifying water and land resources.
These opportunities will be available for private and public investors seeking to be part of the growth in Western Australian agriculture.
